Video footage recently shared publicly showed a massive police operation underway near White Bear Lake in Minnesota. A SWAT team and many other units arrived at an apartment complex in response to a situation that was unfolding at approximately 10:30 p.m. on a recent Tuesday. The following day, a person was taken into police custody in connection with the incident.

The person who was arrested is accused of shooting a police officer. The officer is said to have suffered three bullet wounds. Thankfully, he was listed in stable condition, although he did undergo surgery.

Minnesota police were reportedly serving a warrant

Several police officers had initially gone to the White Bear Lake apartment complex regarding a warrant that was related to an alleged domestic violence case. At some point, after their arrival, a standoff occurred between the person who is now in custody and the officers, including the police officer who was shot. Local departments assisted in the effort by building a strong police presence near the roadway exits that lead to the apartment building.

Criminal defense options vary according to circumstances

Facing criminal charges for domestic violence or violence against a Minnesota police officer is a serious matter that carries stiff penalties under conviction. Any person charged with such crimes is able to enter a plea and present a defense in court. To achieve the most positive outcome possible, it is typically best to request legal support, as soon as an arrest has taken place.
