ATTORNEY AT LAW

Biography

Family Law Attorney Jordan “Jay” Mason

Jay moved from Illinois to attend St. Thomas School of Law, graduating in 2021. He honed his skills through a fellowship at Central Minnesota Legal Services in St. Cloud, where he mastered navigating complex family law cases with both tenacity and respect.

From securing Orders for Protection for vulnerable children to strategically dividing marital assets, Jay understands that family law is intimidating territory. He serves as your experienced guide through the legal maze, combining his natural ability to put clients at ease with an unwavering commitment to fight for their interests.

Jay’s approach balances warmth with fierce advocacy. He’ll crack a joke to lighten the mood during dark times, then turn around and aggressively pursue every advantage your case offers. His patience ensures every question gets a thorough, straightforward answer that actually makes sense.

Judgment Free Zone

Jay and Olson Law operate on one principle: no client faces judgment from their own legal team. Jay creates a safe space for your story while respecting what makes you unique. Whether addressing clients, judges, or governors, Jay treats everyone as equals deserving respect—but that doesn’t mean he won’t fight hard when your interests are on the line.

Straight Talk, Smart Strategy

Jay digs deep to understand not just what you want, but why you want it. This insight allows him to navigate Minnesota’s family laws strategically, crafting solutions that actually achieve your goals rather than just checking legal boxes.

As your attorney, Jay provides both courtroom representation and honest counsel throughout your case. He won’t sugarcoat problems or mince words—if your case has weaknesses, he’ll address them head-on. He pushes back when necessary, always with the goal of strengthening your position.

Jay views court like competitive sports: parties are teams, Minnesota law is the rulebook, and judges are referees. Sometimes the rules or referees seem stacked against you. Like championship teams, Jay works with and around these challenges, turning obstacles into opportunities to win your case.

Negotiator Who Fights to Win

Jay’s Model United Nations experience at Carthage College taught him to negotiate in hostile environments—skills that translate directly to reaching favorable resolutions in family law matters. Whether it’s child custody, asset division, or other family issues, Jay negotiates with your end goal always in focus.

When negotiations fail, Jay doesn’t fold. If your case can’t be settled at the negotiating table, he brings that same strategic mindset and fierce advocacy to the courtroom.

Whether you need guidance through legal complexities, aggressive negotiation, or courtroom warfare, Jay fights in your corner. For a free, confidential consultation about your family law or criminal defense case, call (763) 299-8872 today.
